My Story

Earth Accessories sells sustainable products utilizing suppliers that make a positive impact on the world, and supports the Earth's pollinators. Our mission is to spread beauty by making a positive impact on the world socially and environmentally.  

Hi, I'm Heather. Earth Accessories began initially in 2009 as part of a business plan writing assignment for one of my entrepreneurship classes at University of Iowa. After doing the assignment, I actually decided to start my business.

In college, I sold eco-friendly jewelry at a few boutique stores in downtown Iowa City on consignment and had a table as street festivals for beer money. lol 

After college, I got a big girl job and quit doing Earth Accessories for a few years.  Fast forward to 2016, Earth Accessories started again on Amazon as a little side hustle and passion project for me (with big dreams of being more than a side hustle).

If you know any cool artisans who makes awesome accessories and are doing good for the planet, tell them to reach out to me. I'm always looking to buy from cool wholesalers and expand the selection.

P.S. My favorite charity is Living Lands and Waters. Earth Accessories donates to them frequently. They're local to my community and host river cleanups, watershed conservation initiatives, workshops, tree plantings and other key conservation efforts.
